Allinity launches Application Engine alternative to SQRXLS

Allinity has developed AEXLS, an Application Engine alternative to its own SQRXLS toolset. Now clients have the option of writing reports in either SQR or Application Engine, and still getting the report output in the familiar Excel format. This new functionality means that all of the standard benefits of using Application Engine instead of SQR are maintained, but the biggest drawback (lack of output formatting logic) is overcome.

Some of the benefits of using Application Engine instead of SQR:

• Report development is within App Designer allowing integrated access to record structures and PeopleCode, and one click validation of PeopleCode
• Meta-SQL is a massive timesaver when writing large amounts of SQL, and do not have to be re-written every time the table structure changes
• Application Engine programs are held within the database enabling easy upgrade and reducing administration
